Thanks for buying a LOOTBOX!

To open the box simply peel away the front tab. Inside you will notice two side protectors used to lock the LOOTBOX securely in shipping. Please remove these by hand before lifting out your LOOTBOX using the handle.

Welcome to LOOTBOX Smart Sensor App. 

Before you can use all the features of the LOOTBOX you need to download and install the Tuya Smart App. 

If you have an Android device you can download it here 

If you have an Apple device you can download it here

Once installed you will need to sign up and connect to your WiFi network.

You need to add a AAA battery to the smart sensor on top of the lid. To do this simply slide the sensor to the right which will unlock it and allow you to insert any AAA battery.

The sensor light will flash red which means it is ready to connect. If the light is not flashing you can use the prong provided or something similar and press the RESET button for 3 seconds and the light will flash.

On the app you will press the + plus button on top right side. 

From the 'Add Manually' list select 'Sensors' from left side, then scroll down to 'Contact Sensor' click 'Contact Sensor Wifi'. Make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi network and your LOOTBOX sensor will be found. Give your sensor a name and click 'Finished'

You can edit the name after the sensor is paired by clicking the sensor image, then click the pencil symbol on top right side to go to settings and click name and change. You can also access other smart settings here.

That's it. You can now slide the sensor back on and close the door. Every time the door opens or closes you will get an alert. 

You can adjust how you want the sensor to alert you by going to home screen and clicking 'Me' on bottom right side to access further settings. You can connect the sensor to your smart home through Alexa, Google Assistant and more, or even allow it to send an SMS to you mobile phone when out of WiFi network.

To install the chargers it is super easy:

1. Feed the power cords through the rear middle hole.

2. Plug the charger into cord at the base.

3. Slot the charger into one side of the middle holder. If you notice any resistance near power plug simply turn the charger around and try again. Do the same for the second charger but on the other side.

That's it, you are now ready to plug in your USB cables and charge your devices securely.

With multiple laptops, mobile phones and gaming consoles charging all at the same time the inside can look like a bit of a mess. You will notice three clips along the top left and right wall of the LOOTBOX. Use these clips to feed your USB or other charging cables through. If they are very long cables you may need to do a few loops to keep them neat. 

If you prefer to buy new cables and leave inside your LOOTBOX (Highly recommended) we suggest the following:

Devices at the front half of the LOOTBOX use 20-30cm cables

Devices at the back half of the LOOTBOX use 50-100cm cables 

Please be careful when buying cables that they are suitable for your device. Cheap cables are dangerous and could potentially harm your device. 

We recommend always buying USB cables that have USB-IF certified: meaning it meets safety standards of the USB International Federation for worry-free charging and transferring. To find out what type of cable your device uses this resource here has useful information.

*NEVER USE A 3A USB C CABLE TO POWER A LAPTOP*

Make sure you check the power rating matches your device needs. For example if charging a laptop with our 100w Power Chargers you will need a 5A USB-C or PD cable rated at 100w. 

For Apple Lightning cables always buy genuine MFI-certified cables. The Lightning connector that iPhones, iPods and iPads have been using since 2012 is a proprietary connector created by Apple. Inside each lightning connector is a tiny authentication chip that tells your device it’s Apple MFI Certified. This is important because non-certified, or knock-off, lightning cables can be very dangerous to your device. (You may have noticed a warning message on your phone when a non-MFI cable was detected.) These cables can often times get extremely hot, cause damage to your phone, and even render it completely fried and useless.

If you have lost your keys to the LOOTBOX and have that sinking feeling of never seeing your devices again, don't stress we have you covered. Simply email us at hello@lootboxcharger.com and we will order you a replacement set. However this could take up to 2 weeks depending on where you live.

As a tip we suggest connecting your LOOTBOX keys to your car keys or house keys so they are always on hand. If you are like us you will be opening the LOOTBOX multiple times a day.

Some of you may have opted for the Combination lock, which was only available to our initial Kickstarter customers as an option.

How to change your password?

1. The lock is set to 0-0-0 initially.

2. There is a hole behind the lock. Use a small prong to press the hole.

3. Then while pressing down choose your new passcode.

4. Finally release the stick and your password is changed.

5. Before locking the LOOTBOX please check the code works with the lid in the open position.

Please ensure you write your code down as once it is set and locked there is no way to enter the LOOTBOX.

Yes you can charge anything you like inside your LOOTBOX. 

We have two ways to bring external power such as laptop cords inside. If you are leaving the power cords inside permanently we suggest feeding them through the rear lower hole. However if you frequently swap power between the LOOTBOX and say your desk then we suggest using the two top rear corner slots to simply drop your cords in and close the lid. This provides quick and safe external cable access. 

Inside each charger package there is a desktop charger holder. This allows you to use your charger on your desk should you wish to take it on holidays without the LOOTBOX. We have also found the size of the holders very useful to sit on the floor of the LOOTBOX and hold TV remotes. 

Your LOOTBOX comes with adjustable friction hinges. If you feel the need to add or lessen friction you can use a 3mm Allen Key to tighten or loosen the hinge.

To access the hinge with an Allen Key you will need to remove the lid. Use a 7mm spanner and a T20 Security Torx bit (found at hardware stores) to unscrew the top hinge bolts leaving the bottom hinge bolts in place. Adjust the hinge with the 3mm Allen key a few turns clockwise to tighten torque friction and re-install the lid. Test the friction and repeat until you are happy with the feel.

If lid friction is weak and you prefer not to play around with the hinge friction we find holding the key while opening and closing the lid is the safest option to avoid any chance of it slamming shut unexpectedly.

Whilst the LOOTBOX is tough, it is not designed as a stool or a table. As the lid is aluminium it could bend out of shape with the pressure of a human on top. We also recommend not using it as a table, mainly because the top ventilation means any spilt liquid could potentially enter inside and ruin your devices.
